Dynamic
balancing is a testing process by which moving parts such as drive
shafts are evaluated for vibration. The Reliability Services
Group uses the latest multi-plane balancing equipment to insure
the best possible balance.
However, when balancing rotational equipment, there are other problems
that need to be addressed. It is very important to identify the
other issues prior to balancing. That is why you will receive a
full vibration
analysis on the machinery. This will allow the machine to be
balanced and run to optimal efficiency. By performing a full vibration
analysis the time required for dynamic balancing will be reduced
as other issues have been identified.
With the completion of the on-site dynamic balancing work, the Reliability
Services Group will provide the following:
- Machine history
- Balance status
- Tolerance specifications
- Final balance magnitudes
- Percent reduction of balance magnitudes
- Before and after vibration spectrums
- Baseline vibration signature on the entire unit
- Any recommendations
